What's New: October   For the 4th time members of the Movable Book Society got together to share their love of all books that MOVE!

The conference was held at the beautiful Wyndham Hotel and the Eisner Musem in downtown Milwaukee. We loved Milwaukee because it was so CLEAN!

To get us in the mood (and wake us up) on Friday morning, Linda Costello presented this huge, spooky pop-up before she took the podium.

Pop-up maker Matthew Reinhart took us through the wonderful world of bugs with his presentation (and hilarious Q and A) on The Young Naturalist's pop-up series.

Linda Costello shared some laughs and this incredible rabbit pop-up peeking out of the grass. Linda is the creator of the Pea-Pod pop-up book series.

Paul O. Zelinsky and Andrew Baron, co-creators of the incredible pull-tab book Knick-Knack Paddywhack, sign copies of their masterpiece for the crowd.

Pam Pease breezed in from a busy pop-up schedule to give us a look at her amazing new creation "Macy's Parade" pop-up book. The Rockettes even kick!

Tables were full with original 3-dimensional concepts from many books including Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart's Beetles, from the Young Naturalist's series.

Emily Martin shared her wide variety of artist's pop-up books including a Jacob's ladder. Her gorgeous book on life in Iowa is now part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's permanent collection.

Pop-up work from school children (that's right kids made these!) were one of the highlights of Saturday's session. Whoever said you were too young (or old) to start making pop-ups?!

Ellen Rubin, whose presentation on pop-up master Vojtech Kubasta was a major hit, is joined by Robert Sabuda and Kubasta's daughter Dagmar.

At right, book artist extrodinaire Ed Hutchins played show-and-tell then took us deep into the world of tunnel books with a terrific hands-on workshop>>>

Adie C. Pena came all the way from the Phillipines to give us some insight into his collection of pop-up promotional items and very limited editions of holiday cards from pop-up book makers.
