Louie Award goes to pop-up card!
Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart's pop-up card for the Museum of Modern Art, "Snowman in a Snowglobe" was named Card of the Year at the Louies. The "Louies" is a Greeting Card Association award honoring exemplary design in the greeting card world.
The annual Stationery Show, held in New York City's Jacob Javits Center, produced 237 nominated finalists from Card publishers in the industry's 17th Annual International Greeting Card Awards competition. This year's CALL FOR ENTRIES drew nearly 1,200 entries in 73 categories from 159 U.S. and international publishing companies, including those from Brazil, Canada, England, France, Israel, and Russia, whose cards were marketed and sold in the United States during calendar 2004. The awards are named after German lithographer Louis Prang who is credited with the birth of the card industry in the United States in 1875.
Congratulations Robert and Matthew! We can't wait to see what pop-up surprises you've master-minded for this year's MOMA cards and ornaments!
