Matthew Reinhart's Trip to Japan!
 
Hello everyone and welcome to Japan!  Matthew’s father, Gary Reinhart, our escort Tamami and Matthew Reinhart stand in from of the famous Golden Temple in the traditional city of Kyoto.

It’s always Christmas at the entrance of our newest traveling exhibit in Japan.  Matthew traveled to Tokyo to christen the new exhibit, featuring his and partner Robert’s work, on December 11, 2007.

Among the books featured in this amazing pop-up exhibition is Robert’s latest masterpiece, The Chronicles of Narnia.  Lucky visitors push a button to make the large-sized working pop-ups move automatically.  Cool, huh?
Alice In Wonderland is still extremely popular among readers in Japan, and here visitors can experience “falling through the rabbit’s hole” with a miniature camera placed at the top of the extended tunnel book.

Matthew does his best dinosaur impression with the Tyrannosaurus from Encyclopedia Prehistorica: Dinosaurs.  More teeth, Matthew!

Always the ham, Matthew poses with an large-sized, automatic reproduction of a spread from Cinderella, which has recently been translated into Japanese. A reproduction of Cinderella in her magical gown twirls on the page.  The designers at Toei Company deserve a standing ovation for their amazing work on the exhibition.  It was incredible!

Star Wars: Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy was a gargantuan effort for the studio, and here, visitors can view all the prototypes that led up to the finalized version of the book.  Aren’t you exhausted just looking at it?
