Robert visits India for Bookaroo 2010

Robert has just returned from a whirlwind visit to India for a big book festival, Bookaroo. Check out photos from his trip below!

At the festival, Robert signed books and also led a few workshops about how to make pop-ups.

So many children were excited to make pop-ups in the workshop!

Everyone learned some basic pop-up principles. Here they are making pop-ups with the Layer mechanism.

Check out the original pop-ups that some of the kids made! Here is a friendly green snake.

This young girl experimented with the mechanisms by putting her monster pop-up inside a layer.

With the addition of only two colors, this pop-up became a lion!

This pop-up is not just a card, it's a sculpture too.

What a creative group!

There wasn't an inch of floor space to spare.

Outside, a few women were making folded paper flowers.

The flowers were attached to a branch - so pretty!

There were many beautiful sights at the festival, with bright colors and sunlight everywhere.

"The Fantastic Folding Feast" - these papercraft pieces were made in a workshop for 11-14 year olds.

Sachin George Sebastian, pictured here with Robert, is a paper engineer too! He was the teacher of the Fantastic Folding Feast workshop. Check out his blog here!

Didn't the butterflies and flowers come out nicely?
